Underserviced Communities
One World Clean Energy strives to meet the needs of the underserviced communities where energy is either not available or not affordable. Our mission is to bring affordable, sustainable, renewable energy to underserviced communities throughout North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Sub Saharan Africa.
According to the International Fund for Agricultural Development, three quarters of the world’s more than one billion extremely poor people live in rural areas of developing countries. Fighting poverty today means first and foremost transforming rural lives and livelihoods.
The majority of the rural poor depend on agriculture and agriculture-related small industries and services for their livelihoods. It is in the areas where the incidence of poverty is highest that agricultural development can have the greatest impact on inclusive growth and overall poverty reduction.
In fact, during the past twenty years there has been a striking correlation between regional patterns of agricultural growth and the patterns of poverty reduction.
